ABOUT GERRY SHAMRAY
TWO FIRST-PLACE AWARDS EARNED IN THE 2008 OHIO EXCELLENCE IN JOURNALISM AWARDSGerry Shamray received two first-place honors in the 2008 Ohio Excellence in Journalism Awards: Single Illustration, Non-Daily Newspapers for "Santa's Best Friend"; Spread or Multiple Page Design, Broadsheets for "Music and Notes." The latter category was open to daily and non-daily newspapers.
TWO AWARDS EARNED IN SNA'S 2007 EDITORIAL CONTESTGerry Shamray received two awards in SNA’s 2007 editorial contest. The awards are first place in BEST GRAPHIC ARTWORK and second place in BEST NON-PAGE ONE LAYOUT. Both are in class D: Over 37,500 Non-Daily and are for my work in WEEKEND, a publication of Sun News. SNA's membership is comprised of nearly 2,400 newspapers in the US and Canada.
DE SUPERMAN AU CHAT DU RABBIN EXHIBIT "Kaparra," a one-page comic book story illustrated by Gerry Shamray for Harvey Pekar's American Splendor is in the exhibit, De Superman au Chat du Rabbin, currently showing in Paris, France and then later in Amsterdam.
